The Old Rugged Cross

A classic Christian hymn by George Bennard. The lyrics speak of the importance of the purpose of the cross on which Jesus died. It reminds us of how much God sacrificed to save us. And it encourages us to persevere through trials and persecution in life until the day that we meet Him in eternal glory.

Indeed it was through the cross that Jesus finished His task of saving and fulfilling God's wonderful plan for humanity. Let us be daily reminded that we have a Saviour who cares deeply for us and who gave Himself for us, that we might live anew and have a restored relationship with God. And let us continue to bear our crosses for His sake, that we may attain the crown of glory at the end.

Thanks a lot for the effort of teaching hymns like that one.

It is now very rare that musicians nowadays would take effort teach basic guitar instruction for hymns. I hope God will reward you on your efforts

Most of the hymns songs of the old are now ignore but these hymns express in a much better words personal testimonies of Christian life, from the beginning of knowing Jesus Christ our Lord, to the hope of seeing the Master Musician face to face and sing song with Him in the coming future.
